Hello, hello! I’m so happy you found me! Welcome to my crazy and chaotic life. So, a little bit about me..
I’m a former special ed teacher turned stay at home mom turned LuLaRoe retailer. Starting my own LuLaRoe business was in the back of my mind for nearly a year before I took the plunge. I joined the que in August 2016, and I became an official LuLaRoe retailer the last week of October 2016. It has been a whirlwind of a journey, but one I would not at all change.
Curtis and I have been married for 13 years, although we’ve known each other much longer. We are complete opposites, but we have a way of bringing out the best in each other. We’ve had many ups and downs throughout the years, but thankfully the ups have overshadowed the downs.
This picture represents my heart. These two little boys make me a better person. Wade, age 11, is our oldest, and he has truly taught me the real meaning of life. He is the most pure and joyful boy I have ever met. (Of course, I’m a little biased!) Wade accepts every challenge that comes his way. He has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair for mobility and a computer with eye gaze to talk. Jordan is 8. He has been a part of our family for a little over five years and is, quite literally, the missing puzzle piece that has put us all together. He is witty and intelligent and very, very creative. And of course, he’s a very protective little brother to Wade.
If I had to sum up our life in just a few words, I would say it is a beautiful mess!! Oftentimes, I don’t know if I’m coming or going, but one thing’s for sure, we know how to laugh…because if we didn’t laugh, we’d cry! LOL If you’ve watched the new sitcom Speechless, you have seen a glimpse of our life! Balancing life and disability and regular ol’ boy stuff is messy and glorious and oh so fulfilling! By the way, to add to the chaos, did I mention the animals? We have three dogs, a beta fish, and a barn cat turned inside cat when he had to have one of his front legs amputated! Emma, pictured above, is Wade’s service dog in training! She’s a goldendoodle puppy and has quickly wrapped herself around my little finger!
If you stick around long enough, you’ll also learn that I’m a passionate advocate for inclusion and disability rights and a cheerleader for the underdog. I’m loyal to a fault, and I won’t ever let you go down alone. I am sometimes a bit reactionary, but it’s something I’m working on! You catch more flies with honey, right?
I’d love to get to know all of you better as well, so please comment below or contact me here and share a little about yourself! And please, feel free to ask any questions! You can also find me over in one of my favorite spaces on facebook.
